Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer affecting women after breast cancer.It is around 10 % of all female cancer and women is at risk of cervical cancer regardless of their age or lifestyles.
What is Cervical Cancer?
As we know the neck of the womb(uterus),it connects the body of the uterus to the vagina (birth canal).Cancer occurs when the cells of the cervix become abnormal and grow out of control and cancer spreads to other parts of the body.
What is HPV(Human Papillomavirus) and the relation with Cervical Cancer?
HPV is a family of more than 100 viruses that is very common which also associated with certain types of virus .Most HPV infections occur without any symptoms and will go away without any treatment over the course of a few months.HPV is necessary for the development of Cervical Cancer.Women who had these infection caused by HPV ,majority will resolve without any treatment.However some cases infection can persist leading to the risk of progression of Cervical cancer.
How HPV transmitted?
A common virus like HPV transmitted through genital skin to skin contact and no proof saying that sexual intercourse is the most transmitter for infection.Active sexually women will have HPV infection during their lifetime even if they have only had one or two sexual partners regardless of their marital status.HPV starts from the first sexual encounter and lasts throughout a woman's life.
How to reduce the risk of HPV infection and at the same time preventing Cervical cancer?
Condoms reduce the risk of HPV infection but are not fully protective.Throughout her life every woman is at risk from the virus that causes Cervical cancer.
To prevent the Cervical cancer regularly people use PAP smear testing to look for early signs of the disease.A Pap smear is a quick and simple test to find abnormal cells at the surface of the cervix.Usually cells are collected from the cervix (womb) and sent to laboratory where they are tested for changes.Vaccination also nowadays available to prevent HPV infection and Cervical cancer.
Precaution: Reducing abnormal sexual activities will lead to best protection of Cervical cancer.

This is the most terrifying health problem for woman today. I heard the numbers of women who's have this problem increase and the range of age and characteristic of the victims widening. Many women let this problem untreated until it is worst so it become really dangerous. We should reach many women and spread the knowledge. Thank you for the great information. Although we teach our children and grandchildren about the risks of std's, it's always good to hear, or see, it from someone else's perspective. Good article.
I have one other comment; the vaccinations do not guaranty prevention of cancer, especially once a woman, or girl, has had venereal warts, which means she has already had exposure. I thought you would want to know this.

Dear Freya,Woman who make a person like me to live and move forward because of their strength to face the womb cancer like this!Even man do not have womb and never will,at least some consideration to understand what the risk of cervical cancer to most women might be enough!
